Brief Description: Positioning Firewall For Skin Riveting
I'm making preparations to attach the side skins for riveting. I deburred, polished, and painted the longerons and other firewall attachment parts. I was careful to level everything back up because I think it'll make matching up holes a lot easier. As a sign of how strong the structure is, the wedges under the firewall aren't really necessary any more. The seat back attachment to the spar is bearing the weight of the cabin floor. The next step is to attach the spar reinforcement angles to the spar using pins. You want to make sure everything is positioned in place before riveting. Otherwise the spar bolts might never line up with the spar bolt holes! I'll probably get that far this afternoon before calling it quits.
It fits exactly as before. That's a good sign!
Almost all of these parts are riveted in place. Almost.
