Today's task was to position the flap mount gusset on the pilot's side. After laying out the holes on the seat back, I backdrilled through the gusset. My plan now is to take the welded flap motor attachment, clamp it into place, spot-mark the hole locations by drilling through the seat back holes, then remove the weldment for final drilling. Tomorrow is a big day. I'm taking off work and am planning a major shop-straightening. This job pretty much completes the lower fuselage, so I'll be fully disassembling everything and beginning to rivet. Having a clean shop gets me in the right frame of mind to do good work. I imagine that by tomorrow afternoon, my rudder pedals will be complete, and final riveting will have begun.
