Brief Description: Folding Side Skin Under Cabin Floor (Pilots Side)
Once again something that I have fretted needlessly over is turning out to be pretty simple. Tonight I started folding the side skin under the cabin floor to make up the curved portion of the forward fuselage. I have dreaded the day this was to happen because I figured it would be about as simple as herding cats, but in actuality, it's not bad at all. I've been very careful to try to pre-bend the skins a little so that the springback factor is not so pronounced, and it seems to be working. I'm carefully drilling holes into the firewall using my hole duplicator. So far so good. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I think the worst part is over. (Famous last words?)
