Even though it may not look like it, I made trememdous progress today. I cut-to-size every large sheet needed to finish my plane. No more shearing from large sheets in the middle of the project. Now I just trim what's needed during construction - just like a kit basically. This is a HUGE step. I also fabricated the lower rudder hinges and some 2-foot standard angles. Most of the angles in the fuselage are 2 feet or less, and that size is much easier to work with, so that's the size I made 'em. I'll make some longer ones too. I'm sure there are a few longer than 2 feet. I bent the gear channel today too. It's got a frontwards/backwards bend that's tough to make. I bent the interior angles on my bending brake, and figured out a way to bend the other angles over the 1/8" radius without having it clamped the regular way in the brake. Kinda tricky, but worked out fine. I'll finish up the heel support tomorrow (it has the same frontwards/backwards bends.) I'm fairly certain I'm going to begin construction of the fuselage tomorrow. This does it for a vast majority of the parts needed to finish. Wow. Cool.
