I've been really slack for the past couple of weeks about posting progress reports, but it's not because I haven't been working. I've been working quite bit, and the holidays.... you get the idea. At any rate, here's the first installment of what I've been up to. While the wing was upside-down, I fabricated the lower wingtip flange. After doing the first one (the right wing), this was nothing to fear, and actually kind of enjoyable - a blend of artistic rendering and scientific measurements - the kind of stuff I love. Next I fabricated the bellcrank access door. The hard part - cutting the hole in the lower skin had been taken care of by Zenith Aircraft since I bought the predrilled skins - again, a GREAT thing. Finally, I placed the pitot/static tube that I bought from Larry Winger (thanks again Larry). He went with a heated unit, and had this Zenith version as an extra, so I bought it from him.
