I worked on the right rear spar splice today. Using the drawing on 601.org and Randy Bryant's web site, I was able to figure it out. I may be using a few more rivets than are absolutely necessary, but that's ok. If you notice in the pictures, I don't have the aileron control rod hole drilled yet, or the rivet line for rear rib #7. I'll wait until I'm actually building the wing skeleton to drill and cut those holes. Today was just about making two 6-foot pieces into one 12-foot piece. I'm going to hold off on the riveting too so it'll be easier to move around in the shop and store until I'm ready for it. I stood the spar on it's flange and clamped it to the table to make sure that the spar is straight as I was drilling the splice plate holes - worked great.
