Brief Description: Spar cap angle drilling and pilot holes
Today I positioned the spar cap angles on the upper and lower right spar. The upper one came out great with a minimum 10mm edge distance all around. The lower one came out good on the end measurements (10mm), but dangerously close to being too close to be acceptable from the end of the lengthwise flange (8mm). I don't really understand where the deviation came from. Everything measures out perfectly on the spars, including the cap angles, and the 5.5mm overhang specified in the plans. 8mm is acceptable, so it's entirely possible that that's what Chris intended to happen, but I was really sweatin' it there for a minute until I got everything measured. I also managed to drill all of the spar caps, spar cap angles, and doublers to #20 size (where appropriate - not on the outboard ends which use smaller rivets). Tomorrow I'll open them up to the final #11 size I'm using for the larger 6-14 rivets. The remainder of the holes on the outboard end will be opened up to #21 for their smaller 5-9 rivets.
