I goofed up today while drilling my center spar caps. I had been warned by Dave Clay to match-drill them, or the bolts would never fit. In the heat of the moment, I drilled them without clamping them together, and of course nothing fits. I placed an order to Aircraft Spruce for some more flat bar. Not a terribly expensive mistake, but yet another reminder to slow down and do good work. This is why I started with the smaller center spar before moving on to the larger outboard spars - so I can make my mistakes on smaller, less expensive parts. I'm using this opportunity to wrap up a few loose ends on things like finishing up my aileron trim tab, and drilling safety wire holes in some of my other hinges.
