Brief Description:  Stabilizer Spar Doublers

I spent a long time today organizing, setting up the bending brake, measuring, and cutting to make four 4-foot stabilzer spar doublers. They're made of .040 aluminum, and place a tremendous load on the brake when bending them. I ended up re-making one of them because it didn't meet specs - a pain for sure. Not a particularly productive day in terms of output, but the stuff I made is done right. I also unpacked the crate from Zenith that arrived yesterday containing the stabilizer spars (too long for me to bend), a 6-foot piano hinge, and the elevator skin (again, no way for me to fabricate here on the island). With these parts completed, I'm ready to begin the horizontal stablizer. I still need to make the skin, but I'm ready to be out of fabricating mode and into building mode for a few days. I'll do the skin when I need it. I included the obligatory "shop cat" photo just for good measure.
