Brief Description:  Rudder Skin Assembly

Spent some time today positioning, drilling, and deburring the rudder assembly. Corrosion protection was applied to the entire skeleton and interior of all skins. I'll be doing this with the entire project. The drilling and positioning went well - lots of checking, flipping, re-checking. I wanted to be certain that there's absolutely no twist in thhe rudder. As closely as I can measure, there is no twist. Deburring took a while. Lessons learned: 1. If you get tired of working on it - stop. Since this was the first assembly, I worked hard to get it finished. For the long run, I'll need to work slower, and I need to tell myself to slow down and enjoy the process. 2. Get more clecos. I barely had enough to finish, and was constantly trading them around to make sure things were secure. 3. Build a real workbench (4' x 8' for now - 4' x 12' for later). The build would have gone much more smoothly with an adequate bench. Again, since it was the first assembly, I wanted to get started.
