Today I sanded to shape the new stablizer forming block. I'm much happier with this one, although it's not really off much from my original. I also sanded to shape the second nose rib forming block. I still need to do a little fine finishing work on that one.I've decided to use aluminum on the noserib forming block as specified in the plans. I want all of the ribs to end up identical, and there may be a slight variation after making 20 ribs with the same block.I also rough-cut out the rear rib for the wings. After seeing them on the internet and on the plans for so long, I'm a bit surprised by how big the ribs are. I'm more convinced than ever now that I picked the right plane for me. I like the thick, high-lift "DC3" style wing.
Form block and clamp block. Aluminum will be sandwiched between the blocks for bending.
