I took my nosebowl to a metal fab shop and had them close up the original hole for the starter. With a lightweight starter, I don't need the hole, so it will just look cleaner. Also, I started cutting and fabrication on my new wing root fairings. I decided to cut them form .024 aluminum instead of the original .016. The old set was just too flimsy and had several stree cracks in them from the thin metal. I weighed all the cut pieces against the new set and gained about 10 ounces of weight. I think I'll live. I'm borrowing Scotty Rogers' metal brake to form all the flanges.
