Brief Description:  Finishing the Elevators 1

Before we could finish the elevators, we had to trim a small sectoin of the horizontal stabilizer outboard skin to allow the counterbalace area of the elevator to swing through its full travel. This would involve removing about one inch of the skin. We marked our cut lines on the top and the bottom of each side of the horizontal stabilizer and used a dremel cutoff wheel to do the cuting. We used a file to perfect the edge and a grinder so smooth out the radius. Don't know why Vans just doesnt cut the skin to the proper length to allow the elevator to move up and down.
