Brief Description: Finishing the HS, starting the VS
My son Parker is home from college for a few hours to help build the RV-8. We made some really good progress in a short period of time. Its amazing how much faster you can move with an extra set of hands. We were able to finish riveting the underside of the HS skin to the ribs and rear spar. First major sub-assembly complete. Next we started assembling the understructure of the VS. The rear spar VS-803, spar doubler VS-808, and the hinges were all riveted together first. Then we cleco'd together the VS ribs VS-706,707,704, and 705 to the forward spar VS-702, and riveted them together. Finally we slid the VS understructure into the VS skin and cleco'd everthing into place.
