Brief Description:  Removing the horizontal and vertical stabilizers.

Spent a few hours removing the horizontal and vertical stabilizers since they will have to be off for interior painting when I rotate the fuselage. After removing the horizontal stabilizer I was able to remove some of the rear spar flange with an air grinder as instructed by Vans. The elevator control horn was hitting the flange of the rear spar and not the down elevator stop on the aft fuselage. Thus I was only getting 22-23 degrees of down elevator throw. I temporarily remounted the Horizontal Stab and check for proper down elevator throw. It deffinitely hits the stop but now I have 26 degrees of down elevator and Vans says the limit is 25. I guess I will be calling them about this.
