Brief Description:  Install Aileron Trim

I installed the optional aileron trim device which is located between the seats. There is quite a bit of fabrication involved making the block that holds the lever. I purchased and installed an aftermarket knob (black in photos below) which is much nicer than the stock lever which is just a straight little piece of steel, however the knob i have looks a little big and it might be hard to grab between the leather seats.

The trim device is pretty simple in theory albeit a pain to install in a clean, professional matter. The knob is centered between to (very strong) springs. Rotating the knob one way or the other, ever so slightly pitches the control sticks either direction, which will level the plane. This will be useful with varying passenger weight and fuel load in either tank.

I will have to develop an inspection and maintenance plan for these. If one of these springs broke, and not the other, it would get real intersting. (i wonder if the aileron servo on the autopilot could overcome the forces???)
