Brief Description:  Fab & Install Baggage Area Tie-Downs

I purchased four removable tie-down rings from pitposse - same as vans sells but considerably less expensive. These are anodized aluminum and rated for 4000lbs. I selected an area of the baggage floor that seemed to be the most sturdy. I fabricated and installed some doubler plates to the baggage floor bottoms then drilled the fastener holes for the tie downs. These are located between two floor ribs, which i think is better than putting them right next to the side panel, because then any uplift would be transfered into that side panel in lieu of the floor ribs; because there is no rib where the floor is fastened to the side panel.

I also installed two behind the seats, on the vertical bulkheads just behind the arm rests. Very near to vans suggested location but much sturdier attaching to bulkhead instead of flimsy side panel.
