Managed to get a half days work done on the plane this weekend. With the help of the wife again we riveted the top wing skins on the right wing. This was a nice milestone to reach. Now on to the flaps and ailerons. I built a "Flat" table top (2' x 8') earlier in the week that i will span over my tables to construct the ailerons and flaps. Plans say you need a perfectly flat surface to avoid warping or twisting the ailerons specifically.
Anticipating eventually having to flip the wings so the leading edge is down; i dreamed up a cradle to support the outboard leading edge (spar sticks out enough on inboard side to rest on something) With some lumber and carpet below is a picture of what I crafted up. See, not only am I an aeronautical engineer; i am also a master craftsman!
