Put in another Mans-day on the elevators again today.
Started off this morning on the right elevator trailing edge. Used the holes in the top skin to drill into a pice of aluminum angle i will use to temporarily brace and align the trailing edge. Cut the AEX wedge to length and aligned it between the two skins on the trailing edge. Next, using the holes in the top skin as a guide i drilled through the wedge and the bottom skin at an angle perpindicular to the chord line of the elevator. I did this in stages, clecoing it to the angle as i went along. I also drilled holes down into my table that were large enough to allow the cleco's to recess into. The right elevator is ready for pro-seal, I will wait until the Left is ready as well and do them both at the same time.
For the Left elevator I started the whole process of the right, entirely over again. The only difference is the 615-pp plate where the trim tab linkage comes through, and the big notch left out of the elevator where the trim tab will mount. I started riveting the assembly together, got the painful part of riveting the spar to top skin over with at least. Had to call it quits for the day.
