The baffles run a couple inches long at the front and therefore need to be trimmed back before the lower cowl can even be fit in place. Once the baffles are trimmed back far enough to fit the lower cowl on the process of matching the lower cowl can begin.
The lower dams are bent up to match the bottom of the inlet and then are trimmed back about 1/16" clear. The side of the lower baffle is trimmed at an angle so the side baffle can be bent and tapered inward, it too is trimmed back to be about 1/16' clear of the lower cowl inlet. I've got a few more tweaks to do on the bending and trimming of these and so far i've had the cowl on & off about a dozen times to get to this point.
