My second attempt at the oil door proved successful. Cant believe one can spend a day messing with something som simple as the oil door, I went with a camlock fastener to open & close the door and a concealed spring loaded hinge. This is a far better stup than the stock 1/4 turn exposed fasteners, but much like everything else on the cowl , no instructions. Just got to feel it out. I purchased two fiberglass oil doors and used the second as a stiffener plate to the first. without the added stiffness to the oil door the spring loaded hinge would just curl up the door and open it.
