Installed the kit supplied molex connectors to the aereoled nav / strop lights that I installed in the fiberglass wingtips. I also ran a ground lead from the mounting screws that will be locally grounded to a wing rib. I tested for continuity to the aluminum light housing to my ground lead but could not get a signal. Turned out i needed to remove the anodizing from the light housing. I removed the light from its mounting bracket and used the wire brush oin my dremel tool to remove anodizing on the back plateof the light, where it contacts the mounting plate. Once re-installed i obtained a satisfactory continuity reading from the light housing to the ground.
At the wingtip the aeroled lights get three ground wires. One from the lighting wire where a black grounding wire is supplied coming out from the light housing. A second from grounding the light housing through a mouting screw and third from grounding the braided shield of the tefzel wire. All of these will be grounded locally (approx. 12") to a nut plate on the wing rib.
