Brief Description:  Aileron Controls

Installed the WD-421 Aileron bellcrank and the W-917 & 918 Aileron pushrods in the left wing. The bellcrank rotates about a brass bushing that is held in place with a long AN4 bolt through it. In order to ream the bushing for the AN4 bolt i used a 1/4 inch chucked reamer bit in my cordless drill. the reaming bit went right through in about 20 seconds, worked slick.

The AN3 bolt that attaches the pushrod at the aileron is a real pain to install due to access and length. The space is so tight that the plans actually say to trim the threaded end of the bolt so it fits, but make sure to leave two threads sticking out of the locknut. One thread either way and it doesnt work - not to mention the hacksaw or cutoff wheel is about 2-3 threads wide itself...

I also had to open up the oblong hole where the pushrod passes through the rear spar, as the pushrod would rub against the side of the hole - this is rumored to be a common issue. I used a reamer on the dremel followed by a sanding drum and some scotch brite.
