Brief Description:  Fiberglass Elevator Tips

Installed the fiberglass tips to the ends of both elevators using CS4-4 blind rivets set flush in a #30 dimple. These turned out really well and proved to be realtively simple, where as, at first glance i thought there was no way these would fit.

There will be no reason to remove the tips of the elevators in the future so i opted to permanently rivet these in place rather than use plate nuts to make them removable. The top of the vertical stabilizer and the bottom of the rudder, along with the future wing tips, will all be made removable.

The holes in the aluminum were deburred and dimpled however the holes in the fiberglass were countersunk, using my deburring tool.

Im sure at some point i will need to take some filler to the edge of these to get them to a "paintable"like level of finish, but for now, it's nice to have them off the work bench and installed.

I'll be taking on all other fiberglass elements in the coming days; will be nice to finish this prior to the wing arriving.
