Brief Description:  Re-Build Horizontal Stabilizer

About half way through building the empenage kit my skills were getting much better; looking back there were some cosmetic things i disliked with the Horizontal Stab. Knowing i could produce a better product, i ordered all parts necesary to re-construct the horizontal stabilizer.

Between 4/27 and 5/10 I rebuilt the horizontal stabilizer per the manual and the same as previous logs herein. I am happy with the finished product now. The main differences in the new horizontal stabilizer are
1. Used pneumatic squeezer where able.
2. Alumaprepped, alodined and primed internals with Akzo Nobel two part epoxy primer. - Will be doing this with the wings and moving forward.
3. Used packing tape to seperate aluminum skin surface from head of flush set rivet - producing absoloutely zero marring on the skin surface (will do this from here on out).
4. Attach angles are exactly per plan (had to drill out two of the 18 rivets to AD5's)
5. Completed rivets on inboard main ribs - spar - nose ribs that i previoulsy couldnt seem to get right. Used cherry max (structural) pop rivets at two locations.

Other than that it's pretty much the same - oh yeah, did i mention i screwed up one skin wihle riveting in the nose ribs.... dont work on plane after hard day at work... so, i had to re-order an HS-901 skin, re-fit it, re-drill it, re-prime it, re-dimple it and then i was back to where i started... So After 5 HS901 skins - the H-Stab is to my liking. Glad to get all this done before the wings arrive.
