Brief Description:  Rivet Rear Spar of Vert. Stab.

Used my new air riveter to make some quick high quality work out of the rear spar of the vertical stabilizer. That thing beats the heck out of a hand squeezer or bucking bar. My second piece of advice to anyone building is to start day one with a pneumatic riveter.

The bottom portion of the front side of the rear spar uses flush rivets where it will butt in to the aft side of the fuselage in the future. The rest of the rivets are AN470's I marked the holes to receive ribs with blue tape so i didn't forget. I checked all rivets with my go/no go guage and admit these are the best quality most consistent rivets I have set. Will deffinately use the air riveter whenever feasible.

After the rear spar was riveted to the doubler plate and hinges i cleco'd it into the vertical stabilizer and it is ready to rivet and finish.

I need to make a call to Vans and discuss lighting. I dont want to close up the vertical stabilizer with out the appropriate wiring (which is none I hope) I'm thinking a strobe for the trailing edge of the rudder, if anything, off the back end at all. Deffinately going with wingtip strobes, navs, landing and taxi lights though.
