I couldn't help but get started in on the vertical stabilizer. My initial thoughts are that after completing the horizontal this ought ot be a piece of cake.
I cleco'd the doubler plates, spars, ribs and hinges together and match drilled all the parts. Next I cleco'd on the skin and match drilled the enitire thing too.
Like the horizontal - i took the opportunity to fire up the blunt tip soldering iron and melt some strips away on the exterior skin surface for deburring and countersinking.
I took everything apart and started in on deburring the parts. So far i have completed the doubler plate, It is ready for machine countersinking.
It was a long weekend but I made some good head-way, afterall, next weekend is Easter and the plane will have to wait while I hang with family & friends.
