Brief Description: Debur & Dimple Horizontal Stabilizer Parts
After the stab was disassembled I went to town deburring both sides of all the parts from match drilling. (Ribs, Spars, Skins). Also took some time to make sure I didn't miss any edges, which i did; the lightening holes, but these were easy on the drill press. Deburring all these holes took a while - wonder what the wings are like??
Next I dimpled all the holes in the ribs as indicated. I started to machine counter sink the spars but notized my brand new #40 3/8x1000 countersink bit was not plumb/true. It is crooked has a wobble in it (creating an elongated hole). Now im going to need to wait until a new one arrives to continue. Oh well, i am ready for a break.
Next I will start to dimple the skins while I weight for a new bit to arrive.
Also ordered some 3M Marhyde aerosol self etching primer today. I do not plan to prime the entire inside, just the required parts that dont already have alclad on them. I may do the ribs and spars too because of all the deburring and such but still undecided on those yet too...
