Brief Description:  Canopy Deck

I've had quite a bit more time to work on the plane since I took the job with Southwest. I'm on a 4 day/10 hr schedule so I have 3 days off. I have worked the last couple of days on the canopy deck, roll bar and fwd fuselage structure. All of these things depend on each other for their respective position in the plane. I didn't like how the fwd canopy parts overlapped the stiffening beads in the subpanel so I shifted them both outboard and trimmed the excess off. I still need to make the angles that join the deck to the subpanel. I started fitting the roll bar too. I spent about 3 hours trying to compress them to match the fuselage. I borrowed a techinque from fellow builder Collin Peterson and wrapped a 3" ratchet strap around it and sinched the hell out of it. I had to compress the roll bar nearly 2" beyond my target dimension to allow for springback. The marks on the canopy deck represent the 3/8 setback allowance for the windscreen. I dont plan to drill the mounting holes for the roll bar until I get more involved with the rest of the canopy.
