I decided to start looking at mounting the tail surfaces this weekend since I'm on hold for parts in the front of the plane. Still need some fittings to run the tubing for the static system. I dug out the parts to fab the aft elevator push/pull tube. I drilled it up and temporarilly installed the ends with aluminum pop rivets so I can set it in place and get an initial rig on the elevators. Once I'm satisfied with everything I will take it all apart for painting. I clamped the horizontal stabilizer in place and spent hours taking measurements and re-positioning it untill I was satisfied that it was perpendicular with the centerline of the fuselage. I then drilled the 4 holes thru the main spar of the horizontal into the fuselage. I clamped the vertical in place just to get an idea of how it will all match up. I will start drilling it next weekend.
