Spent the weekend getting the fuel selector valve mounted. I had a couple of hours getting the spacing for the spar and the spar splice straps right so I would know exactly where to put the selector valve. I ended up making my own box structure to support the valve. I didn't like the parts that were supplied with the kit. They didn't have much of a "finished" look. I did use the top plate that the valve mounts to but fabed the two sides and front cover from .032" aluminum. I bought the center tunnel cover/heater box that Vans sells for the RV-7 but I think I will end up making those parts too and sending the Vans part back. It's made from .020" aluminum and I dont think it will hold up very well to being kicked and stepped on. I plan to make mine from .032" with stiffeners about every 8-10".
