Brief Description:  Inside Back Seat Right forward Cover

I made this 'right rear seat area forward cover' over a few days. I wanted to protect the pitch trim and push rod controls from any possible interferences. The plans have these primary controls exposed, which is fine if you don't have a huge back seat flexible ferry tank like I do.

First up I had to make my .8" foam .35" thick. I did that with the router and then some sanding to get the surface as smooth as possible. Next up was fitting it to the back seat area. I then got out my 5 minute epoxy and using pins as you see in pic 1 made the cover shape using a block of wood as a form. It still needed a tweak to get things square.

That night I mounted the pieces on foam at an angle and then did the tie down area cutaway at the bottom. Next was a two ply BID layup on the outside which I baby sat while it cured to ensure no bubbles on that top curve.

Pic 2 is a day later and after a lot of prep the one ply of BID inside layup with a flox corner around that exposed curve. I did peel ply the main area with the thought that I'd need a stiffener later but it was fine once cured. Pic 3 is again after a big clean up and a trial fit.

Of course I still have to make brackets and secure these removable parts to the fuselage walls.
