Brief Description:  Empennage control surfaces "final" attach

Installed both elevators on the horizontal stabilizer. Checked for alignment and freedom of movement. I have chosen *not* to trim the bottom flange of the horizontal rear spar to allow the control horns full clearance until the horizontal stabilizer assembly will be mounted to the fuselage. Installed the bolt that connects the left and right elevators together but did not full torque at this time. Installed all washers / nlock nuts for the elevators at the rod end bearings as well, but only torqued the nylock nuts 2 turns into the nylon.
Installed the rudder rod end bearings to the correct measurements per the DWG. Attached the rudder to the vertical stabilizer and ensured proper travel. Noted that full travel causes the aft edge of the vertical stabilizer skin to impact the leading edge skin of the rudder. Because this will lead to damage of the rudder skin over time, I clamped the counter weight arm of the rudder to the vertical stabilizer to prevent motion during storage. As with the elvators, the nylock nuts are only torqued 2 turns into the nylon. The rudder assembly is set aside in preparation for long term storage.
