Brief Description: Wing Walk Doubler & Left Wing Skins
Today I started fabricating the left and right wing walk doublers which is a relatively easy process. The kit provides 2 sheets of aluminum labled AS3-025 x 10 x 48. Use these 2 sheets to cut the wing walk doublers to a 9 3/8 inch x 26 inchs. I used the Wiss Cutter to do this after measuring and marking. These pliers do a good job with a clean and accirate cut. After cutting both doublers, I started working on drilling the left wing doubler using the W-702 inboard skin as a guide. The doubler is perfectly aligned with the inboard edge of the skin and offset 9/16 inch from leading edge of skin. I used clamps to hold in this position and drilled all holes with a #40 drill bit...then deburred the doubler. I then hung the left wing doubler, inboard, and outboard top wing skins. They are now ready for match drilling which I will do next session.
