Brief Description:  Continued Work On Wing Tiedowns

Today I continued work on both left and right wing tiedowns. I first completed the right tiedown by drilling the spacers using the predrilled holes in the spar. I used 2 clamps to hold the spacers and tiedown bar tight. I then installed the nutplates onto each spacer and using the nutplate holes as a guide, I drilled the rivet holes installing clecos when needed. After that, I machine countersunk the rivet holes in the spacers, and used the unibit to drill out the lightening hole in the middle of each spacer by putting them in a vise. I then repeated the same process for the left wing tiedown assembly. In addition, I took the time to sort and match up all bolt/nut/washer/nutplate/rivet hardware. We ordered the wing tiedown rings thru Fastenal and the are not here yet so I did not tap out the bottom of the tiedowns yet. I edged and deburred all part holes, then primed all parts with zinc chromate primer. Next session I will cut the threads for the wing tiedown loops and rivet and bolt everything together. I'll then start on the 6 access plates.
