I spent the whole day just on the wingtip clear lenses....measuring, cutting, shaping, & fitting.
First I used a Dremel tool with a standard cutting disc to cut the lens part in half. I then taped the lens parts in place and used a fine tip Sharpie to mark the new cut lines. Cut close by these lines with same dremel tool/disc. Refit, remark with sharpie, and then used the Scotchbrite wheel on the bench grinder to do the fine touch-ups on the lense. I experimented with the metal grinding wheel as well but not so good results. Then tried the scotchbrite wheel and surprisingly....it worked out really well leaving a very nice finished edge even on the plastic!! This process took a long time...fitting, marking, grinding, x a bunch of times. The first lens took me just ove 2 hours...the second took about 1 hour. Patience and small bits of grinding were the key here to getting two nicely fitting lenses.
I still have a little touchup to do on the left wingtip lens.
