Using L. Pazmany's Copy righted book Custom Built Aircraft Owner's and Operator's Manual as a guide; I started my simular manuals. Pazmany's book serves as an excellent model for making up one of these manuals, which by the way is required by FAA. I did not use his book as a form, that you could fill in your own data for your plane, but rather as a guide to make up my own Manual with my own data right in "Word" Program on the computer. This takes a lot of time researching, developing, typing, but it is very worth it. It also allows you to make mistakes, so to speak, by it being a word processor, I can go back and fill in data later, correct erronious data, change format,etc., etc..Section 1) is "Specifications"Section 2) is "Aircraft Description and Views. Other than not having a completed image of the plane at this time; I was able to provide a pretty concise description of the plane. I cheated (at least for now) and used an image of someone elses plane (out of California I believe). It was a very nice image, and example of a "Starduster" (SA-100). If the owner, or anyone knowing the owner, sees these images and could provide me with the present owner's name; I would be happy to list it as a credit to this manual. Section 3) of this manual is actually the "Aircraft Construction" Section. Other than two different subsections for a listing of "Drawings and Documents"; Section 3) is a dedicated manual in itself intitled "Builder's Manual". It is the actual computer program "KitLog 2" printed out into a manual. This program is one outstanding piece of work. Section 4) is Weight and Balance. That will have to be completed later in the project. Section 5 is "Operating Limitations". Section 6) is "Performance" Section 7) is "Operating Instructions", also to be completed later. Section 8) is " Service and Lubrication". Section 9) is an expansion section for something I may have forgotten. If nothing else, I can make a Comments/Remarks Section out of it.
