Glued up another layer today. Had trouble with one 4' piece cracking at the apex of the oval. I pulled it off and replaced it with another. I found a way to make the scarf in place, similar to the way I did it for the 1" thick diaphragms and will use this approach from now on. It will allow me to avoid any issues with the long strip not being perfectly straight and resulting in a gap in the bottom. I think some of the 4' pieces have a "hitch" in the grain making them a little more brittle in the tight turns. I have found that the next layer can compress the cracks and I feel they will mend fairly well.
