"Now the Ailerons are fabricated 90% I will start the flaps. They look pretty easy now and are just a scalled up version of the ailerons with less parts and fabricating. The plans have some measurements that need some interpretting so that you take measurements from the right point and get the right cuts. Need to be careful and I didn't think it would be this imperitive or difficult to get this right all the time. It is so easy to make a mistake. So I have now measured and cut out and drilled the right flap as per the plans. The hinge is prepared and the flap drive is also done on the right side. everything except the rib location and drilling through. Have to sudy this as per the Ailerons.
I have now started the left flap and it is just the reverse of the right one as per the plans but again you have to be careful which side you take your measurements as it is now mirror image of right flap plans. Will work on this again tonght while the family are returnign to Hong Kong after 2 weeks in Oz. I will not get as much time when they are back and I go to San francisco in 2 days again. I will be picking up some re-ordered parts from Sonex that are being delivered to my hotel, a rudder and also a part that was missing in original kit and some back ordered parts.
I need mozzie coils in the shed now, as the humidity has started and they like bare legs. Blood suckers."
