"Today I rigged the stab 'Sailor' (frame/ribs etc) together. I asked a friend to come over, Simon to help out and see how it goes together, the process and techniques I have learned. He is building a Monnett Sonerai so it will be good for him to see how it can be done.
The pieces all clecoed together well and so Simon started rivetting the ribs together using both normal rivets and also the flush rivets. We did the frame and then clecoed the skin on and did that as well. All went well however I ended up doing too many of the rivet holes on the bottom side so we got some practice takingout about 20 rivets which was a good learning process as well although frustrating. Read the plans. So it took an extra half an hour. However the stab both Left and Right are done and can be stored till later!
I now have a Vee Tail visualised/materialised. It is 88 inches from tip to tip. A bit wide for the shed if I want to be able to get it out at some stage. MMmmm,,,,, ,"
