Brief Description:  Priming and final Assembly

"This morning I cleaned and washed and scotchbrited parts to be primed. After drying I used the recommneded (recommended by Sikkens aluminium metal schedule) Sikkens dgreaser with auto clean cloth and allowed to dry again.

I then used the aerosol primer and did 2 coats on each part.

After primer dried I assembled the rudder drive horn using the hand riveter. I had difficulty on a few rivets as I did the longer ones from the bottom first and when I did the side ones through the skin the shorter rivets would butt on to the pulled rivet ball nad not allow proper seating of the short rivet to be pulled. I went and had some lunch and then I had the thought to try the short rivets first after drilling out 5 of the offending long rivets. The short ones went in ok. Having done it in this sequence the long ones did not hit up against the short rivets and all was well. I rivetted the fibreglass cap and also the hinge.

Rudder complete!

First part assembled!"
