Brief Description:  Painting: Fuselage Inside & Zolatone

For most of the interior of the fuselage, I am painting it with Zolatone paint. It gives an interesting speckled appearance and Aircraft Spruce had it on sale as wll as listing it as "cockpit paint". I sprayed it on, but it was a pain: messy, did not cover very well, and apparently rather toxic. I'm glad that I'm done with it.

I tried spraying the areas of the cockpit near the seats, but it just did not stick very well at all. The bare fiberglass areas in the front and rear were okay, but not the smooth, gel coated, areas. Aircraft Spruce said, "primer not required when used on fiberglass." Perhaps primer would have helped on the cockpit areas that I had trouble with. I don't know for sure; conjecture. So, I cleaned it off of the areas were it did not stick well, and will use the exterior paint in those areas as well.
