After the primer had finished drying, I started to fill the small imperfections. I'm using the Bondo filler that comes in a squeeze tube. While it stinks a bit, it seems to work well: dab it on, strike it off, wait for it to dry (about 20-30 minutes) and sand smooth.
As you can see, there are a lot of areas to fill. None of these are major, but there sure are a lot of them.
