Brief Description:  Back to work.....

Tonight I looked at what I still need to do to finish the empennage. I've assembled both left and right sides and need to get every remaining part match drilled, deburred and dimpled or countersunk. Once I have this done I can prime and then rivet the elevators. I started out tonight by making the 2 foam ribs for the elevator trim. I did it on the band saw and they turned out perfect. I then fabricated the wood clamps needed to hold the tab together when I glue the ribs in. I then drilled and attached the trailing edge AEX angle to the trailing edge of the skins. I want to get this done, so I can dimple the skins and countersink the AEX and include it in this round of priming. I also started to assemble the trim tab servo unit. I am using an electric trim tab on this plane. I will be able to control the trim tab from a hat switch on the stick. I did manage to trim the tab horns to size and figured out how to place them. Tomorrow I will finish assembling the servo motor and mounts.
