Brief Description:  Prime, Nutplates, Re-assemble Fuselage

Today was a very busy day in the shop. I started by preping all of the parts to be primed grey (Napa 7220 Self Etching) by using a scotchbrite pad and cleaning with MEK. I use a good resperator and goggles when I use the MEK and make sure 2 doors are open in the shop. It is pretty cold out today, so all of the prepping and priming was done indoors. I then primed and left the shop to let it air out. After breakfast, I started working on preping the forward skins and forward bottom skin. I used the Azko epoxy green on the inside skins and the arm rests. After another brief break to air out the shop, I came back and set the heaters on high....I then began to rivet all of the nutplates on the parts I just primed. I also riveted the arm rest and stiffeners that I worked on yesterday. Next I riveted the F-904-H center section side plate to the inside skins. I also riveted together the gear attach web assembly. The F-684 gussets were next...I riveted them on to the firewall angles. The F-719 and F-719B were also riveted to the firewall. After all of these little things, I finally began to reassemble the fuselage. Let me tell you...It went together much quicker this time around. As I assembled the fuselage, I had to make sure all of the holes were drilled and countersunk or dimpled properly. I also had to countersink the F-904 flange so 5 rivets on each side can be double flush to allow for the landing gear mounts to lay flush on the flange. After assembling the rest of the fuselage, I drilled the front floor support angles to the fire wall and the F-904 bulkhead flange. I am all ready to begin riveting the skins on tomorrow.
