Brief Description: 15 Months Since I finished the Wings!!
Is there anybody out there..... It's been 15 months since I not only worked on the plane, but place an entry in this log. I have experienced the year of hell.....but I'm back and ready to begin the fuselage. I have been busy starting a new company and rebuilding the Empire! My old building company went out of business last year and I have been busy buying, remodeling and renting out apartments for the last year. I am almost to the point I want to be .....so now is a good time to commence work on Juliette Whiskey.....again. I sent in the deposit for the fuselage kit today. Van's web site says the backlog on the RV-9A fuselage is about 8 weeks (I have a feeling it will be here before that...). The order I place was for a fuselage with a tip up canopy (just because I like the looks of the tip up better than the slider) plus 2 steps, dual brakes and electric aileron trim. I have been chomping at the bit to begin again. I haven't been wasting my time, though...I 've been doing panel layouts and learning all I can about wiring and electrical stuff. I 've also begun to research and get quotes on engines.
I also decided to get into better shape during the building hiatus. I've lost 90lbs. and will be able to fit in the plane with full fuel, a passenger and a shitload of baggage!! I feel much better (and I look Marvelous!)
With my new housing rental business, I'm getting to the point where I will be able to work a few hours in the morning and spend the rest of the day on the plane....this is how I plan to spend the fall and winter, unitill I complete the fuselage and begin the finishing kit....
I will do more posts on this log when I get word from Van's on my ship date and any other info. I hope there are some that are still interested in this project. Once the Fuselage is delivered....no hold barred!!! I will be posting everyday...with pictures!
