Brief Description: More Wiring
|
|
Tedious plus rework.
Finished stripping the shielded p-lead wire for the right mag. Since I also had to solder some wires to the panel switches/indicators (starter / alt warning), I got out the soldering iron and tinned the leads. I figured I'd also tin the shielded portion of the p-lead cables, since they had quite a bit of flex in them, and I was pretty sure they'd eventually break. Bad idea.
The soldering and heat-shielding of the starter and alt warning light went well, but the p-lead broke just by flexing it to install it. Fortunately, I had enough slack in the line that I could basically start from scratch and re-strip the p-leads. This time, instead of tinning, I used heat shrink plus electrical tape, to provide some rigidity to the final connections.
Just have to wire-up the right side of the panel (the fuel sensor controller box, the sender, plus the other half of the alt-warning light, plus the RDAC data cable, and I'm ready to apply power. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot - I have to install the backup battery wiring harness (and make same first), and wire the AHRS and create some pigtail connectors for the 3 lights on each wing (strobe / nav / landing (well, OK, landing light only on the left side).
