Brief Description:  Wiring Analysis & Design

Not much hands-on metal / fabrication, but lot's of time spent on it nonetheless.

I have chosen to do even more "under the tank" before permanently installing the glareshield and fuel tank. Most of the effort has been spent on determining which wires and other firewall penetrations will be required, which requires me to determine which wires, as in the architecture of the panel and systems and grounds.

Mentally struggled with whether I should use a master contactor or alternator cutout relay. Finally decided to go with the basic Sonex diagram as shown on plans page SNX-E01.

I then needed to determine wire sizes other than those specified on the plans page, and drew a rough diagram of all wires required for one bundle thru the firewall.

Task included lots of review of the AeroElectric reference materials to make sure I selected the correct shielding for those items requiring it, as well as other inductance-related clearance issues. Finally, created a shopping list of additional material to purchase from B and C Electric.
