Brief Description: Trial Fit of Panel / Comm Check
Spent a long weekend in Kansas watching KSU beat Mizzou. Yea, 'Cats!
Attended the ALCS Game 2 at Rangers Ballpark. All to say that life had gotten in the way of the project, yet again!
Installed last remaining AN3-12A bolt in the elevator control pushrod.
Continuity-checked backup battery polarity to avoid re-frying the backup charging circuit within the Enigma.
Drilled hole in glareshield for the OAT sensor; installed grommet & routed wire; connected to Enigma.
Installed AHRS unit. Will have to adjust wiring a bit; too short to run along fuse sidewall.
Connected everything up, and slid the panel down into its mounting position. Applied power. It works! (well, it worked before OUT of the fuselage, but it's nice to know it still works!).
Connected my headset and confirmed VOX intercomm operation. Tuned to known ATC freqs and was able to clearly receive DFW approach comms. Freq swap on the sticks worked as well. Went to air-to-air comm freq and confirmed that transmitter entered xmit mode when PTT is pressed.
