I wanted to add a layer of felt to the top of the fuel tank where it abuts the glareshield. Also, according to plans you are supposed to add felt to the 4 fuel tank retention straps.
Purchased 3M upholstery trim. Sprayed on the tank and the felt as per directions. Let it get to the tacky state, then applied the felt to the tank. Good stuff!
Next, I cut 4 lengths of felt to fit the tank straps. Again, sprayed adhesive on the felt and the straps. Let it get tacky, then lay the felt onto the straps.
Sealed the gascolator inlet adapter with teflon pipe dope.
